The 1952 Ozark Eagles, 1941 Dothan Browns, 1947 Greenville Lions,  and 1955 Panama City Fliers are the only AFL teams to win the pennant and playoff championships in the same season.

The 1949 Ozark Eagles had the 10th best record in league history, yet they finished second the season to the Greenville Pirates. The Andalusia Arrows won the 1949 playoffs after finishing fourth in the regular season with a 59-64 record.
