Cobb had the highest batting average in all of
baseball in 1954, for which he was awarded the
Silver Slugger award (best hitter in the minor leagues).

Williams had the unfortunate luck of batting over .400 and not being the best hitter on his own team!  He was Neal Cobb's teammate when Cobb batted .432 in 1954
Bob Wellman was 3 at bats shy of the 300 mark when he left the Oilers to play in Savannah.  Wellman's 1957 season was one of the best all around offensive performances in all of baseball and deserves recognition here.
